Don’t plan without God!

Planning
This past week as I walked into my office, my mind was spinning with tasks to complete for the upcoming week. I like to get to my office early and do my quiet time with God before I start my office hours. This particular day, I turned on my computer and tried to pull up my daily quiet time that I read from http://www.myutmost.org, but as I clicked on it, the site would not connect. I pulled out my laptop and tried to access it there. Still, nothing worked. I started getting a bit frustrated, so I decided that I would just do it later on in the day.
I gathered up my list of things to do in order to get ready for the upcoming two weeks of Falls Creek and began working through the tasks. Quickly, the tasks overwhelmed me. It was as if God was saying, “Stop and spend time with Me.” This feeling moved me to get up from my chair, sit on my couch, and begin to pray that God would fill me, knowing that without Him I could do nothing. It was a great time praying and listening to God.
When I walked back to my desk, guess what had finally pulled up on my computer screen? Of course, my daily quiet time stared me in the face, and as I sat down to read it, I just had to laugh a little bit. The title that morning read, “Don’t Plan Without God!” WOW! It was as if God was saying, “You can’t do anything without me,” and He will go to whatever links He has to make me understand this.
I am so thankful I have a God that loves me and wants the best for me. I am also glad that he continually reminds me that I am in need of Him. John 3:30 says, “He must increase, and I must decrease.” No matter how many plans I have for Falls Creek (or for anything I must do), if I have not brought it before God and asked Him for guidance, it will never be what God intended it to be.
Have a great week,

Jeremy
